The Pink Jukebox Trophy
The 2024 Pink Jukebox Trophy will take place at Bishopsgate Institute on Saturday 17 February 2024, inviting same-sex couples from all over the world to compete in the Great Hall. We also have Open categories to welcome all dance couples of our community.
To comply with current equality legislation, for 2024 we have formed the Pink Jukebox Trophy Association.
Those who wish to compete in the Pink Jukebox Trophy Competition in 2024 must register to join the Pink Jukebox Trophy Association (PJTA) as a dance couple. The membership fee will entitle them to one-day membership of the Association on 17 February 2024. This will enable them to take part in the competition and no further fee will be charged.
Members must agree to abide by the rules of the Association, and to abide by the rules of the competition, which are the UKEDC competition rules.
If you have any questions regarding these please email us at entry@pinkjukebox.co.uk.
In 2024, the Women's Latin, Men's Ballroom and Open Latin competitions and prizegiving will take place in the early session, and the Men's Latin, Women's Ballroom and Open Ballroom competitions and prizegiving will take place in the afternoon/evening session. There will be a ball at the end of the afternoon/evening session.
The competitions will be judged by Corentin Normand (France), Natasha Soldati (U.K.), and Pat Woor (U.K.).
Here is a list of entrants.
There will be a FREE party on Sunday 18 February at Bishopsgate Institute with social dancing from 1p.m. to 6p.m. Competitors, spectators, judges & participants are welcome. (You are required to inform Bishopsgate Institute if you intend to bring a guest under the age of 18 to the party.)
Sessions
For the early session, the doors will open at 9.30am. The Women's Latin, Men's Ballroom and Open Latin competitions will start at 10.30am, and will be followed by a presentation of prizes. The early session will end at 4.00pm.
For the afternoon/evening session, the doors will open at 4.45pm. The Men's Latin, Women's Ballroom and Open Ballroom competitions will start at 5.15pm, and will be followed by a presentation of prizes and a Ball. The afternoon/evening session will end at 11.30pm. All timings are approximate and will be confirmed after the registration has closed.
The membership fee for competitors covers both sessions, even if the competitors are only competing in one category.
Entering the Competition
The membership fee is £40 per couple, or £36 per couple for UKEDC members. To qualify for the discount, you must have an up-to-date subscription, of which we will ask to see proof.
Please use the links below to complete the membership application form and make payment via PayPal. Your registration is not recognised until both steps have been completed.
If you are dancing with two different partners, please notify the organisers. You will not need to join twice.
Members of the PJTA (Pink Jukebox Trophy Association) may enter the Ballroom category, the Latin category, or both. All couples are welcome to take part in the Open categories. All competitors may attend the whole day of the competition, even if they are not competing in all categories.
Non-binary competitors may choose to enter either the Men’s or the Women’s categories, but the chosen dance-category gender must remain consistent throughout the competition.
We recognise that the chosen dance-category gender of non-binary competitors does not necessarily reflect their gender identity, but rather reflects the competition in which they prefer to take part.
Levels
In 2024 there will also be a Starters' level in addition to levels A through D. The Starters' level is open to same-sex dance couples who have not previously competed in a dance competition; it is also open to those who have previously competed only in the UK Fun Competition. Dancers at the Starters' level in Ballroom will dance Slow Waltz and Quickstep. In Latin they will dance Cha Cha Cha and Jive.
Dancers other than those competing at the Starters' level will be assigned a level in a classification round. Dancers in all categories, including the Open, will be classified by the judging panel as appropriate.
Some private accommodation is available, with priority given to competitors. If you are interested in private accommodation, please send an email to our Housing mailbox.
Application Form and Payment

Watching the Competition
The Pink Jukebox Trophy has a proud tradition of welcoming a large number of spectators, who contribute a lot to the atmosphere of the event.
Spectators may buy tickets for the early or afternoon/evening session (including the ball), or for the full day.
Spectator tickets for all sessions have sold out, Bishopsgate Institute is operating a waiting list in case of returns. To be added to the waiting list, please email enquiries@bishopsgate.org.uk stating which session you want to join, and how many tickets you'd like. Please do not email the Pink Jukebox with your requests as we will not be able to assist you.
Volunteering Opportunities
We are currently looking for volunteers to offer accommodation to visiting competitors. If you may be able to provide somewhere to stay, or if you would like more information about volunteering accommodation, please send a message to our Housing mailbox.
